GREENING IN THE SPRING TIME

It’s spring time and the City of Los Angeles is revving up for the 2008 Arbor Day LA. It’s time to pick up that shovel and wear those gardening gloves. Put on that party hat and join us for a fun-filled event of booths, treats, surprise celebrity guests, entertainment, and tree adoptions and planting workshops.

What is Million Trees LA?

The Million Trees LA program is Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa’s initiative to plant one million trees throughout Los Angeles over the next several years.
The program aims to grow Los Angeles’ urban forest to improve air quality in the City, lower temperatures around neighborhoods, reduce urban runoff, and provide a greener, more pleasant environment for the residents. Trees are also known to increase property values, absorb noise, and reduce stress and crime.The one-million tree goal will be achieved through the collaborative effort of the residents of Los Angeles, the city departments, and the Million Trees LA project partners.
